The opening also called Sokolsky Opening orangutan (see below the origin of this term) or Polish Opening. It bears the name of Alexei Pavlovich Sokolsky Grand Master of the USSR, who wrote a booklet on the opening in 1963.
After the databases of historical chess tournaments Sokolsky opening is the least popular of the nine shots to play (of 20 possible moves of all) available in white, as in the first set. In other words, it is very rare in tournaments.
